Masaya Kohama Kancho

Kohama Sensei, The Chief Instructor of Shobukan Organization, teaches Shotokan Karate and resides in Japan. Has extensive training and teaching experience in the Martial Arts. A Tested and Certified black belt by the JKA. Kohama Sensei conducts regular seminars in the USA, India, SriLanka and South America.

Kohama Sensei has been visiting the USA since 1998. During his visits he has conducted many seminars and testing. In 1998 we hosted our first international karate tournament. The 2nd Friendship Invitational Traditional Karate Tournament was held in August 2002, the 3rd Shobukan Cup was held in Japan. We continute to host yearly an annual Shobukan Cup Tournament that brings the best of Texas and International competitors. Our annual tournament continues to grow yearly.

Manuel DaCosta, Chief Instructor of Shotokan Dojo

Nationals

Mr.Da Costa, 4-dan, is the chief instructor of Shotokan Karate Dojo in Killeen Texas and has been practicing Shotokan Karate for over 20 years. Tested and certified in Japan through the Shobukan Organization by Kohama Sensei. Holds 3-dan in Kendo tested and certified by All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF) in 2007, a member of the Austin Kendo Doshikai Dojo. In 1998 tested in Japan for Shodan in Iaido then in 2004 tested in the U.S.A. for Nidan in Iaido.
Lived and trained in Japan with Shobukan Organization and regularly visits Japan for Karate and Iaido training. He is the USA and PanAmerican representative of Shobukan Organization.
